SENT GEO in 2026: what changed and how to prepare your GPS locator
SENT is the Polish system for monitoring the transport of “sensitive” goods, run by the National Revenue Administration (KAS). From 17.03.2026 it also covers clothing and footwear, so many more carriers now need a GPS locator (lokalizator). Below: what changed, how to enter the locator number and what to do if data stops transmitting.
What changed in 2026
From 17.03.2026, clothing and footwear were added to SENT. From 20.06.2026, the thresholds were raised: clothing — consignments over 31.5 kg, footwear — over 64 items (single shoes, not pairs), mixed consignments — over 31.5 kg. Some CN codes were removed from monitoring — see Dz.U. 2026 items 813 and 814. Before each trip, check your cargo against the current text of the rules on puesc.gov.pl.
On such a transport, the carrier must send location throughout the whole trip. That is why Ukrainian carriers increasingly search for “sent lokalizator gps” and “sent numer lokalizatora gps”.
SENT shouldn't be confused with e-TOLL. e-TOLL is toll payment for Polish roads for vehicles over 3.5 t, while SENT is the monitoring of the transport of certain goods. Both systems require geolocation, but the SENT obligation depends on the cargo, not the vehicle's weight.
How to send location to SENT GEO
Polish provider Data System describes three options: the SENT GEO app on the driver's smartphone, a portable OBU device, or a fixed GPS tracker via an external location system — ZSL (zewnętrzny system lokalizacji).
The app needs no hardware installation, but depends on the driver's phone: a flat battery or a closed app means lost data. A fixed tracker is powered by the vehicle and works independently of the driver.
Before buying a tracker, confirm which ZSL operator from the list on etoll.gov.pl it will send data through, and check the model against the manufacturer’s list.
How to enter the locator number (numer lokalizatora)
In the SENT zgłoszenie (notification), the carrier enters the numer lokalizatora — the ID of the device or app that will send location during the trip. e-TOLL and SENT use a shared app and the same ZSL concept.
- Choose the transmission method: app, OBU or tracker via ZSL.
- Get the locator number for the chosen device; where to find it is described in the official SENT guide at e-toll.mf.gov.pl.
- Check that the tracker is switched on and sending data before departure.
- Enter the number in the SENT zgłoszenie (notification) before the transport begins.
What to do if data stops transmitting
Sources describe the rule for a loss of transmission differently: for SENT, a requirement to stop if the device has not worked for more than 1 hour is mentioned (Wialon blog, 2024); for e-TOLL, more than 15 minutes (Data System). As of October 2026, check current requirements at puesc.gov.pl.
- check the tracker's power supply and that the SIM card has roaming;
- notify the dispatcher: the monitoring platform shows when the connection was lost;
- follow the KAS instructions on locator failure, including on stopping.
SENT fines: range by source
Amounts differ between sources, so we give a range. Data collected from industry sources as of October 2026 — check official fine amounts at puesc.gov.pl or with KAS.
- 10,000 PLN for failing to transmit geolocation and up to 100,000 PLN for undelivered goods — trans.info;
- up to 46% of the cargo value, but not less than 20,000 PLN — Gerlach;
- 10,000 PLN for the carrier and 5,000 PLN for the driver — Data System.
